The full story behind the newly discovered “Roswell Slides” that purportedly confirm the rumored Roswell alien.

Discovery of the Roswell Slides

Original slide from the Roswell Slides that appears to show a dead alien bodyIn 1989, an Arizona woman was cleaning the home of a deceased couple, readying the home for an upcoming estate sale, when she made a discovery that could have broken the Roswell case wide open. While carrying items to the garbage can, she noticed a box (or chest) full of Kodachrome slides which she figured could be interesting. She took the box of photo slides to her home and placed them in her garage. And there the box sat – for ten more years.

Around 1999, the woman dug through the pictures in the forgotten box and to her surprise, found photos from all over the world, many of which included famous celebrities such as Bing Crosby, Clark Gable, and President Dwight Eisenhower. A part of the box was badly water damaged and there amongst the muck, she found a plastic envelope partially hidden in the inner lining of the box’s lid. Inside the envelope she found two more photographic slides. She held the slides up to the light and to her surprise, found what appeared to be pictures of an alien being.

“They seem real to me. The people I have shown them to that were there say they are what they saw in Roswell.”

Kodak film historian examines the slides

Closeup photo of President Dwight Eisenhower found in the batch of old Kodak slidesSometime later, she took the photos to the research team of Tom Carey and Don Schmitt, two top experts in the 1947 Roswell UFO crash field, for validation. To confirm their authenticity, the researchers shipped the two photos to an expert Kodak film historian who verified that the slides were indeed manufactured in 1947. The historian further confirmed the sleeves the slides were in dated from 1942 to 1949 and noted that the slides did not appear to have been tampered with nor manipulated in any way. As expected, all evidence suggested a film batch that was in use during the time of the Roswell crash.

Carey examined the photos and said they show an alien body, about 3-4 feet tall, with an over-sized head and a partially dissected body. The body appears to be lying on an army blanket. Calling it the Roswell “smoking gun”, Schmitt told reporters:

“It will certainly be the most important event in our lifetimes, because we are demonstrating, not only photographic evidence, but we are also demonstrating what all of these witnesses have reported to us over all of these years.”

Bernard and Hilda Ray – original owners of the slides?

Business profile of Bernard A. Ray, Consulting GeologistVery little information about the deceased couple who originally owned the photos has been released to the public. It is believed the couple are Bernard A. Ray, an oil exploration geologist working in the fields near Roswell, New Mexico, and his wife Hilda Blair Ray from Midland, Texas. Bernard was the President of the Texas/New Mexico chapter of the American Institute of Petroleum Geologists. Oddly, after 1947 (around the time the photos were shot), Bernard was never heard from in the industry again.

Hilda, Bernard’s wife, was a highly respected attorney for “high-end clientele” and possibly worked for government intelligence agencies. She was also a private pilot with many connections in the public and private aerospace sector. All that is rumored about the couple hint that they were well-travelled, interesting, and well-connected which lends credence to the authenticity of the photos and the exciting possibility that the entity captured in the pictures is indeed one of the Roswell aliens.

Hoax, mistake, or photographic evidence of the Roswell aliens?

It is also worthy to note that the alien depicted in the slides is not the typical “spaceman” of the 1940’s (or even 1950’s) but rather a representation of the alien lifeforms that were believed to have crashed, and died, in Roswell, New Mexico in 1947 (as described by eyewitnesses).

The photos were presented to the public in the National Auditorium at the Maussan’s Cinco de Mayo event in Mexico City on May 5, 2015.  Below is what was revealed to the public.

Although the photos were not initially released to the public, there were a few brief, low-quality glimpses of the photos caught in pre-event presentations. Here is a collection of photos, including the actual alien photo that we’ve cleaned up and enhanced to reveal more detail (sorry, but that’s the best it can be cleaned up given the low-res source). We’ve also included three unidentified photos that Kodachrome documentary makers are seeking readers’ assistance with identification.
