Lifelike status of sleepwalking man in his underwear - Wellesley College, Massachusetts

Students at the all-female Wellesley College in Massachusetts have asked administrators to remove a lifelike statue of a sleepwalking man in his underwear.  The statue, created by artist Toni Matelli, depicts a lifelike white male trampling through the snow in his underwear.  It was installed at the school last week near the center of the college’s campus as part of an art exhibit.  According to a petition from students:

“While it may appear humorous, or thought-provoking to some, it has already become a source of undue stress for many Wellesley College students, the majority of whom live, study, and work in this space.”
